School Days

Whether you’re recording your child’s school year, congratulating a graduate or thanking a dedicated teacher; May is the time to bring school projects into full focus. Heritage Makers offers beautiful yearbooks for almost every grade, meaningful gifts or greetings for the graduate and one-of-a-kind teacher appreciation gifts. Let’s take a look at a few examples in each of these areas.

Yearbooks to Remember
From pre-school to graduation, every grade and experience is something to be preserved and celebrated. Ask any grandma and she’ll tell you, you may THINK you’ll never forget your child’s performance in the school play or his third grade best friend; but memories fade fast. As a parent, one of the greatest legacies you can leave your child is a record of his or her younger years. Roxanne Buchholz has an entire line of 8 x 8 yearbooks that span pre-school to high school. You’ll love how easy these books are to use and how they coordinate with one another so you can make one each year. Those shown here are “HM Kindergarten Yearbook,” template 81118; “HM 1st Grade Yearbook,” template 56434; “HM 2nd Grade Yearbook,” template 56433; and “HM 6th Grade Yearbook,” template 25798.

Words of Advice for the Graduate
Looking for a classic gift of wisdom and encouragement that can go with the graduate as he or she starts her life journey? Sandra Dovre’s “A Bit of Advice-Son,” template 34717 and “A Bit of Advice-Daughter,” template 34832 are Heritage Makers projects that celebrate the occasion and become lifelong keepsakes.

A Memento for the Graduate
One of the simplest graduate gifts you can create is a framed 11 x 14 “Graduate Subway Gift.” Template 84423 is by Lynda Angelastro and can be customized with appropriate school colors, name and initials along with the graduate’s name. Buy a large frame at the hobby and craft store that is matted for an 11 x 14 photo. Use a 40% off coupon and a good frame should be well under $20. With your Club HM membership, you’ll be creating a wonderful, original, personalized gift that’s also very reasonably priced!

Teacher Appreciation Time
At Heritage Makers, there are a many a one-of-a-kind ways to tell your child’s teacher “thank you.” Try these two ideas from Sharon Macfarlane. They are made on simple 7 x 5 Invitations that can be hole punched and attached to a beach bag for the “Teacher Fun-in-the-Sun Kit,” template 83307 or to any kind of container for the “Teacher Movie Mania Kit,” template 83309. Instructions are included on the reverse side for teacher to use an assortment of small gifts for a day at the beach or the movies. The reverse side also includes a place for a “thank you” from your child.

Group Teacher Appreciation Gifts
If you’re responsible for gifts for all the teachers in the school or want to say thank you to several of your children’s teachers, try these fun ideas from Roxanne Buchholz. “HM POP-ular Gift Tags” template 86184 and “HM Smart Cookie Gift Tags,” template 86183 are each designed especially for teacher gifts. Each card of these decks can be personalized on the front side to make up to 54 custom labels for cellophane bags of gourmet popcorn or cookies. Personalize with the name of the teacher and the child, or the class if it’s a group gift. If you’re using the gifts tags on cello bags of cookies, make the cookies from any recipe that stores well for a couple of days. For the popcorn tags, use your family’s favorite gourmet popcorn recipe or try the ones we show here.

Diapers To Diplomas & Books For Brides

This time of year two types of moms begin to stress out — moms of grads and moms of brides! The pressure to provide photos and memories from years past can easily overwhelm the most-organized mom.

Mothers of graduating high school seniors begin to panic about hosting an open house. Often the goal is to create a “diapers to diplomas” display of photos and memorabilia from birth through high school activities and achievements. It can be an elaborate and time-consuming task to say the least and usually strikes fear in the hearts of anyone who had once tried traditional scrapbooking.

Fortunately, Heritage Makers can help moms of grads & brides! From the invitations to thank-yous, party décor and display items, as well as gorgeous gifts, publishing projects created in Studio will make any grad or bride proud, and can take away the guilt and stress from busy moms!

Hosting an in-home party showcasing solutions from Heritage Makers with your fellow moms of grads, or even as a bridal party or shower, will be a fun way for you to earn an average of $100-$150 in FREE publishing for your own project plans. Everyone will enjoy seeing the creative choices and fully customizable options offered in Studio for their own photos and stories worth capturing and preserving.

Brides and grooms agree that Heritage Makers’ wedding projects are truly stunning — from invites and thank-yous to guest sign-in books, gallery-wrapped canvas prints, storybooks and so much more. You can host a bridal shower workshop featuring Heritage Makers publishing projects. Guests can give publishing points as gifts and their personal purchases help you earn host reward credit too!

You simply invite 10-12 friends and provide light refreshments. As your Personal Publishing Consultant, I’ll do the rest. Schedule a date with me soon so we can plan to publish your projects before your child’s graduation or wedding day!

Canvas—A Clever and Classy Gift

A Deeply Appreciated Gift

Looking for meaningful gifts for your many upcoming family events? April’s the perfect time to plan for those wedding, graduation or Mother’s Day gifts, and canvases are the perfect gifts for such special occasions. While fast and easy, a canvas is a thoughtful, substantial and always appreciated gift that shows just how much you care. Check out these ideas for your spring and summer gift giving.

(Shown above are “Mothers Day Tribute” by Michelle Wolfley, a 20 x 16 canvas, template 56489 and “Dahlia Wedding Canvas” by Sandra Dovre, an 8 x 20 canvas, template 65893 that’s part of a complete wedding collection.)

Wedding Memories

If you’re involved with the wedding and have access to the photos, preserve those feelings of joy and promise by creating a canvas that’s matched to their wedding invitations and books. Shown here are Darcie Toom’s “Blessed Wedding Canvas” a 24 x 18 canvas with the deep wrap, template 83895; Kristen Melnyk’s 12 x 12 canvas template 78762, “You and Me” and Roxanne Buchholz’ 12 x 12 canvas template 66411, “HM Wedding White Canvas.” Search the Template Gallery for “wedding” with “canvas” selected as the product. Many of the wedding collections have a canvas as part of the set.

For the New Couple

Want the young couple to know how much you are pulling for them and their future together? Canvases as décor for the new couple’s home are the perfect wedding gift. Take your favorite photo of the two of them and make Wendy Bailey’s “The Hands of Time” 20 x 16 canvas, template 52700. They’ll treasure it forever. Don’t have photos of the bride and groom but want a really meaningful gift? Here’s a solution, try “The ABC's of Us Canvas” by Kelly Wolfer. It’s an 18 x 24 deep canvas, template 59317 that can either have the new last name under the initial or the first names of the couple. The ABC’s that follow are attributes that anyone would find inspiring. (This template or the matching 11 x 14 poster version makes a great graduate gift too.)

Graduation Gifts

Give the new graduate a gift that helps him or her set lofty goals for the new life ahead. Add your inspirational quote to any of our 8 x 8 canvases. The message that came on your card or the words you’d love them to live by all can have a longer life and resonate more deeply while hanging on your young adult’s walls. Many of the canvases made to display a photo of a child work for graduates. We chose “Do Great Things” by Lynda Angelastro, template 58393, for a male graduate and “Wish” by Tanja Rigby, template 29172, for a female graduate.

Making Mother’s Day Meaningful

Nothing pleases most moms more than having photos of loved ones decorating their homes. Add the upscale look of a canvas to a photo they’ve been dying to display and you’ve got a gift for mom or grandma this Mother’s Day that’s sure to be a winner. Canvases in our popular 12 x 12 gift-giving size that fit the bill perfectly include “HM Cute as a Button” by Roxanne Buchholz, template 66406 and “Grandparents are Gifts” by Leanne Reist-Barr, template 69186. “Call It a Family” by HM Signature Templates, a 20 x 16 canvas, template 29531 is also a wonderful, larger canvas to show off your family.

Impact and Value

In addition to being the perfect present for all your important occasions, April’s an especially good time to make your canvases because each and every one is an additional 10% off this month. Show just how much you care with a canvas. It’s fast, it’s easy and it’s a fantastic gift!

  4. Change the bottom line to the high school mascot name. If the new name is shorter or longer than the template name, turn ont he rulers, unlock the text box and pressing down the CTRL button, stretch the text box until letters line up with the half inch mark as shown below.

Your Finished Gift
