Mother’s Day Ideas

Does your mom deserve a special shout out this Mother’s Day? Well Heritage Makers has gifts and greetings to make her day one she’ll really remember!

Hats Off to Mom x 100!Let her know how love and appreciated she is with a “100 Things I Love About You, Mom” 7 x 5 storybook, template 56347, by Lynda Angelastro. Write what you appreciate about mom inside this beautiful purse-packable book. Divide the 100 “things” up between your brothers and sisters or interview the grandchildren to make filling the book faster. Only one, first-page photo of mom is needed. It’s fast, it’s heartfelt and one thing is certain: mom will treasure it forever.

An All Year Long Thank You
Give a gift that will display your gratitude all year long with a subway art-styled poster like this one from Karilyn Pieratt. It’s template 83853, “Mother’s Believe Subway Art Poster,” made from an 11 x 14 poster. Karilyn also created a poster made from an 8.5 x 11 scrapbook page, designed to be shown off in an 8 x 10 photo frame. This pink poster, made just for Mother’s Day, is called “Mother's Day 8 x 10 Subway Art” and is template 83854.

Recipe Cards GiftSearch online or go to your local high-end kitchen gadget store and you’ll find clear acrylic recipe boxes in the 6 x 4 size. Pair the recipe box with 6 x 4 invitations made into recipe cards and you have a winner of a Mother’s Day gift. Ann Perry has a set in blue, shown here, template 80515, named “Recipe Card,” but search the Template Gallery and you’ll find many styles and colors from various designers. And really, what could be more flattering or appreciated than for mom to have her recipes in printed form? Saves some sibling rivalry too because mom’s recipes will now be easily be duplicated for all.

The Faces She LovesMom or grandma will go gaga over a Mother’s Day card featuring the faces of the little ones she loves. Check out our super popular template 61575, “Mother's Day Card” by Julie Young, a 7 x 5 greeting card. With its pink and pretty design and space for three photos, it will be an instant hit. Use a single photo of all the kids together (or this be one of the cards each child gives) with template 8602 by Elisa Black. It’s called “Green Mother's Day Photo Card” and is a perennial favorite.

Cards Designed Just for HerDo click the “preview” link while you’re searching for that special card in the gallery. Many cards that are beautifully designed on the outside have a place for the photo that will touch her heart on the inside!

“Amazing Mother Card” by Karilyn Pieratt, 5 x 7 greeting card, template 83852 is a good example. Show off a photo of grandma’s younger days with “HM M is for Mother” by Roxanne Buchholz, a 5 x 7 greeting card template 81708. And for another “fancy outside, photo inside” card check out Michelle Bell’s “Mother’s Day Flowers,” template 21453, also a 5 x 7 greeting card.

In Her Favorite ColorIf your mom loves blue, check out “Bright Mother's Day” by Michelle Bell, a 7 x 5 greeting card, template 21395 or “Blue Butterfly” by Leanne Reist-Barr, another 7 x 5 greeting card, template 54770. But remember, it’s easy to swap out papers! In Studio every-element is swappable, so that blue could just as easily be purple, if that’s the color she loves the best or to match that special photo you want to choose.

Heritage Makers Gifts and Greetings

Making the most important woman in your life a personalized gift or greeting is easy with Heritage Makers templates. Enter “mom” in the Template Gallery search engine and you’ll find nearly 200 designs created especially for her! Spring Projects

Spring is a time of transformation when all things seem fresh and new again. It’s a natural time to appreciate life; to celebrate hope and to focus on our faith, values and philosophies. It’s also the perfect season to surround loved ones with the Heritage Makers products that celebrate spring and inspire renewed commitment to faith and family.

Celebrating Life
It’s no coincidence that Easter motifs include fluffy chicks, baby bunnies and other symbols of rebirth and renewal. Acknowledged with a little thought and explanation, their presence magnifies other inspirational or faith-focused celebrations of spring.

For the cutest display of spring flowers and fluffy chicks, join Sandra Dovre’s “Happy Easter Décor,” playing cards together with ribbon to make a concertina style table decoration (see bottom of photo below) or tie together to form a banner that reads “Happy Easter.” In the Template Gallery as template 56768, it brings a welcome touch of spring color and a reminder of the promise of the season to your Easter décor. Instructions for assembly are included inside the template.

Filled with Easter grass and goodies, template 54590, “Bright Easter Bucket, by Lynda Angelastro is sure to bring smiles on Easter morning. Personalize the project with your children’s names, then glue labels on the front and lid of two, gallon-size, clear plastic pails for personalized baskets or containers for the Easter Egg Hunt. Use green, gold and white netting or tulle instead of ribbon to decorate the handles of your Easter buckets. Template eggs can be glued anywhere. If you’re in charge of the Easter Egg Hunt, write grand prize information on back of cut-out eggs, place inside plastic ones and hide as part of the hunt.

Use Roxanne Buchholz’ “Lil Easter Chick” card, made from a 7x5 Invitation, template 56188, for an Easter Greeting or as the title photo in a 7 x 5 frame collage. This popular way of decorating combines photos and word or title art. Jill Means also has several 7 x 5 invitations designed to do such dual duty. The one shown above is template 69839, “Framed Holidays – Easter.”

If family and friends are far away, send Easter greetings. Two of our newest are shown here. “HM Easter Basket Thoughts“ by Roxanne Buchholz, template 79442 is an 8 x 4 photo card with a plain white back ready for your handwritten message. “We are Blessed Note Card” is from Sandra Dovre. It’s a 5 x 7 invitation, template 56590, that says “We are blessed” on the front and “We hope you are too” on the inside. For more ways to celebrate spring, check out the Heritage Makers Template Gallery.

Focusing on Faith
Spring is a good time to fill your home with uplifting décor that emphasizes your family’s hopes and values. “Peace,” template 54586, and “Faith,” template 45070, both 20 x 20 canvases by Tanja Rigby are matching statements of faith from the Old Testament that can be coordinated to fit your home’s color scheme.

“1 Timothy 4:12,” template 12723 is a 12 x 12 scrap page design by Penny Hughes. The template makes four 6 x 6 squares which can be mounted on ceramic tiles and displayed in your home or given as gifts. Or, try a self-adhesive laminate vinyl tile. While they typically come only in 12 x 12, the front face can be scored firmly with a craft knife and then bend the tile break it cleanly.

One of our most popular statements of faith is “Serve the Lord 1” by HM Signature Templates. It’s a 20 x 8 canvas, template 51770, and the background paper can be changed easily to fit your décor.

If Passover is the spring holiday you’re celebrating, send a personalized greeting or set your table with custom placemats designed to commemorate the story of the festival and its message of hope, redemption and faith. Cards shown here are “Passover Blessings,” 54577, and “Passover Blessings and Joy,” 54579 both 5 x 7 greeting cards by Tanja Rigby.

Tanja also designed this “Passover Placemat.” It’s a 14 x 11 poster, template 54587. Personalize with every young family member’s name and choose to add UV coating box at checkout for spill protection to make after-meal clean up a cinch.

Love and Inspiration
Some home décor items are just a way to say “I love you.” Others set the tone for a home where love and respect are honored and cherished as these two 8 x 8 canvases show. Send a custom canvas to Grandma to let her know you wish she werecelebrating with you this year. “Some Bunny Loves You’ is by Tanja Rigby and is template 30742. “Inspirational Family Quote Small Color” by Lynda Angelastro is template 41965 and designed to be customized to your family’s décor. Easy instructions for color customization are included inside the template.

Spring is also a time for graduations and graduation gifts. Remind your son or daughter that dreams really can come true by making this ready-in-an-instant canvas from Tanja Rigby.
A wonderful graduation gift, “Dream” is an affirming quote from Walt Disney, suitable for family room, dorm or den. Leave as is or take five minutes and change the colors to match his or her décor. “Dream” is a generous size, 18 x 18 deep canvas and can be found by entering 45179 in the Template Gallery search engine.

Two 16 x 20 canvases that put family and values on the wall are “Season Series—Spring” by Jill Means, template 41482 and “HM Number of Breaths” by Roxanne Buchholz, template 62388.

And, let’s close with a 12 x 12 scrapbook page, also designed to be mounted on tile, whose wisdom inspires no matter what your faith tradition. In neutral tones, “Jewish Proverb” by Lynda Angelastro is template 52730.

Celebrate Spring Your Way
Use the Template Gallery's single-word search with terms like “spring,” “Easter,” “Passover,” “Bible,” “quote” or “family” to find hundreds of projects to lift and inspire this springtime. The Versatile Playing Card

Of all the products offered in the Heritage Makers line, none has been used quite as creatively as our playing card deck. From personalized Valentines to bridal thank you’s, and from play date cards to lunch box notes, our imaginative customers have found ways to use this smaller-size product for a vast array of occasions and recipients. The cards are on sale for an additional 10% off during February, so it’s a good time to look at the many ways playing cards are being put to use.

The Standard Photo Deck
Let’s start with a standard photo deck. If you want to put a photo of your dad’s boyhood home, your mom’s favorite flowers or a your daughter and her boyfriend on the back of a regulation set of playing cards, Lynda Angelastro’s “Your Photo Card Deck,” template 51251 is the deck to start with. Replace the one back photo and your deck is done. It’s a basic template so anyone can make one.

Trading Cards
If your family is into sports, another very popular use of our playing card decks is for sports trading cards. Make a set for one child to give away to family and sporting friends or make a few decks with each member of the team featured and let them trade among themselves or with competing teams. While “HM Hockey Trading Cards” by Roxanne Buchholz, template 37873 is shown here, put “sport” in the search engine while playing cards are selected as the product, and you’ll find many different sports accounted for including, football, soccer, tennis, basketball, swimming, volleyball, baseball and more.

Memory Prompts
For a more unusual use of playing cards, check out Mandy Horne’s “Scripture Memory Verse Cards 2.” It’s the second in a series. This one’s template 51793 and each card face is designed to go with the scripture it displays. Mini works of art, this would be a wonderful gift for family members or Sunday School students and could be easily adapted to fit any set of memory prompts, from learning a foreign language to Boy Scouts knots!

Holiday Décor
Happy Easter gets spelled out when you join Sandra Dovre’s cards together with ribbon or punch only top holes and tie them together to form a banner. “Happy Easter Décor,” template 56768 is similar to sets spelling out “Be Thankful” (39747 or 39760), ”Merry Christmas” (46003 or 38735), “Peace & Joy” (48511)“or “Happy Valentine’s Day” (78906 or 78251). Instructions for assembly come inside all these templates and they are truly a bright spot in any home at holiday time.

L
ove Notes
You’ll find several love notes, kindness notes and other expressions of love and support in the Template Gallery. We’re showing Heidi Jackson’s “Lovebox Lunch Notes” template 59839. Change the messages to fit you and your child’s relationship and pack a positive affirmation with your child’s lunch each day.

Play Date Cards
One cute innovation in playing card use is for young children’s “play date” cards. Carry a few cards in your purse. When you meet up with the parents of a classmate, pass one along with the contact information needed to get the kids together. Shown here is a super fun set by Kristen Melnyk called “Space Playdate Cards,” template 59101. Find many in the Template Gallery for boys and girls or make one “back” side and customize fronts for two or three children in the family.

Teacher Tools
Teach school? Know someone who does? Make a “Welcome Back” banner, design personalized hall passes and more inside Sandra Dovre’s template 65387, “Welcome Class.” It’s a delightful way to get the school year started and requires just a few text changes to customize.

Family Time
“Family Table Talk Cards” by Kari Pieratt, template 78253, are a wonderful way to get the talk going at your dinner table. Leave one under each plate and have each family member take a turn, put only one under a plate and let everyone have a turn across the week or use as a game on a plane ride or anytime you want to get a conversation going.

Wedding Ideas
Thank you notes, change of address cards, wedding favors and save the date cards are all wedding items you’ll find offered by creative designers in the Template Gallery. Shown here are “Blessed Wedding Thank You Cards” by Darcie Toom, template 55513 and part of an incredibly beautiful wedding set that includes storybooks, invitations, canvases—and even matching address labels.

Popular for Valentine’s Day
Put “Valentine” in the Template Gallery’s search engine and you’ll see that one of the most popular ways of using playing cards is for personalized Valentines. Shown here is a “Bee Mine Valentine Cards & Treat Topper” by Joelle Paleologou. It’s template 50265 and if you haven’t ordered Valentine’s for your kids yet, do check out our offering in the Template Gallery.
